Classroom Tables

Horseshoe and kidney-style shapes can provide an educator with access to a group, while round and rectangular tables suit other layouts. Compare the dimensions with your teaching routine and room space.

Use the table's usable edges, base position and the size of the chairs and students. A nominal seating count is only a starting point; account for materials, personal space and access.

Match the table with the students' chair heights and check knee clearance. Use manufacturer sizing guidance, especially when a room serves several age groups or uses more than one seating type.

Adjustment methods differ. Some require tools and are intended for occasional setup, while others allow more frequent changes. Check the mechanism before planning daily height changes.

They may suit these activities when the top material and care instructions match the work. Confirm suitability for paints, adhesives, heat or cleaning products rather than assuming every surface tolerates them.
